HMS Kelly and HMS CavalierHMS Kelly and HMS Cavalier
In 1978 the late LORD LOUIS MOUNTBATTEN OF BURMA signed two limited edition prints of paintings by Robert Taylor. The prints depicted two famous destroyers each carrying the signature of Lord Mountbatten, together with that of artist Robert Taylor. With their limited edition status and historical relevance accompanied with such a notable signature, it makes these prints a highly prized item.

HMS KELLY - Captained throughout her illustrious career by Lord Mountbatten, HMS Kelly stood for all that was finest in Royal Naval tradition, inspiring affection not only amongst her own crew, but throughout the fleet. "The ship passing to starboard is Lord Mountbatten and his gang of pirates", the Officer of the Watch on Warspite is reported to have said. This magnificent painting shows Kelly passing Warspite in Grand Harbour, Malta, in 1941.

This print is sold out and is only available on the secondary market. It has been shown with Cavalier so it may be purchased with "Cavalier" to form a pair.

HMS CAVALIER - Built in 1944, H.M.S. Cavalier served as Escort on the treacherous Arctic convoys to Murmansk and survived constant U-Boat and Aircraft attacks and furious mid-winter gales. This painting captures everything that was so fearsome about those Arctic convoys.

The prints measure 43" x 31" overall with an image size of 30" x 18".
